Prospective Host Families Needed American Councils for International Education is looking for temporary host families for young professionals from Georgia, Russia, and Ukraine under the auspices of the Legislative Fellows Program, funded by the U.S. Department of State. Program Facts:

    • Hosting commitment: October 6 - November 7, 2010
    • Fellows work with local city, state and federal legislatures/government offices
    • During the program, Fellows live in home stays and are supported by American Councils staff
    • Upon their return home, Fellows administer projects and conduct workshops in cooperation with the U.S. Embassy and U.S. counterparts
    • Fellows receive a round-trip ticket from their home country, medical insurance, a small monthly stipend, and an allowance for public transportation
    Host Family Requirements:
    • Able to provide room and board (two meals a day during the week and three on weekends)
    • Interest in intercultural exchange
    • Accessibility to public transportation
    • Host "parents" at least 30 years of age
    • English speakers at home (strongly preferred)
