American Legion Grube-Hunter Post No. 110

115 South Fifth Street

The American Legion / Grube Hunter Post No. 110 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, applied for and received its charter back during 1938 by the World War One Guys. The American Legion and the VFW both share the same building. The North half of the building sits on School Property and the South half sits on City property. Our Building is called the "Veterans Building" and was the upstairs section of a World War One Barracks located at Camp Gruber near Muskogee, Oklahoma. It was given to the Broken Arrow American Legion so they could hold their meetings. Our present building is loosing its floor, the underneat is rotten, whono insulation in walls or ceiling, and would cost more to bring it up to standard than to build a new building. The floor will probably fall in on us in the next 4 to 5 years.
We have started us a building fund to go towards purchasing a building and are planing to have Dances on Friday or Saturday night, maby Bingo once a week, a clubroom and a gameroom. We would like the hall big enough for Dances and a lighted parking lot.
