Ancestral Trails Historical Society

Ancestral Trails Historical Society had its beginnings in Radcliff, Kentucky on October 3, 1975. It was formed "to bring together persons who are researching in history and genealogy, and to promote fellowship and cooperation among them." Further, it was formed to foster, stimulate, and share ideas, information, methods, and practices in historical and genealogical research; to collect, preserve and make available to interested persons material on history and genealogy with special emphasis on Bullitt, Hardin, and Meade Counties, Kentucky and adjacent areas; to preserve and encourage others to preserve cemeteries, historic buildings and other sites; to encourage those officials in charge of public records and historical and genealogical collections to preserve them and make them readily accessible to interested persons. Over the years, those "adjacent" areas came to include Breckinridge, Edmonson, Grayson, Hart, Jefferson, LaRue, Nelson Counties, Kentucky and Harrison County, Indiana. One of the vehicles initiated to realize these goals was our Ancestral News, a quarterly magazine, first published in January, 1976.
