History
The Arts Council of Barton County was formed in 2001 by a small group of individuals interested in promoting the arts in Barton County. Since that time, the council has increased membership, found support from area businesses, and sponsored many activities to benefit artists and promote arts education.

A permanent home was acquired in the summer of 2002, and, after extensive building renovations, plans began for an arts curriculum. With funding from a grant, the YATA (Youth Achievement Through Arts) program became a reality. Other activities sponsored by the council include: arts and crafts at the Moore Pavilion, film festivals at the Plaza Theater, the Snowflakes and Roses Ball, Youth Photography and Art Show, Music Fest, and the Home for the Holidays reception.

The main gallery will continue to offer changing exhibits quarterly. Area artists are welcomed to inquire about upcoming exhibition opportunities.
