Bardwell Elementary School

550 South Lincoln Avenue
630-299-5300

The C. M. Bardwell School was completed in the year of 1929 at which time Mr. Conrad M. Bardwell, who had been superintendent in East Aurora for thirty-two years, was Superintendent Emeritus. The new building was appropriately named for him, who, for a third of a century, had given of his energies to build up the principles and standards of our school system.

For many years the Marion Avenue School had been located on the south east portion of the present site but the rapid increase in population in the south section of the city demanded a larger school. Therefore, homes adjoining the school property were purchased making the present site extend a block on Lincoln Avenue between Seminary and Marion Avenues and as far east as the alley.
