About Us
We are an independent, nondenominational church, made up of people from a variety of religious backgrounds. We believe in Jesus Christ and acknowledge that we are part of the larger body of Christ throughout the world. We are called Believers Church because we really believe! We believe the Bible to be the Christian's "How to Book". We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our only way to Heaven. We believe in the Holy Spirit. We believe that God saves, heals and delivers those who believe.
Believers Church started as an idea. A plan God set in motion within the hearts of the leaders of our church. They decided that if they could build a church any where in the South Suburbs of Chicago, they would build it on 25 vacant acres on the clover leaf of I-57 and US Route 30. There was just one problem - the land was not for sale.
Because they believed God wanted a church on that land, they persisted with the land holders through many, many obstacles until finally they were able to purchase the property for an unprecedented low price. Believers Church was now a vacant, over grown lot.
It took time, nearly three years in fact, it took prayer, it took patience, but most of all it took belief in God and His Will to accomplish the task that was set before us. Only by God's goodness are we here today, with Believers Church about to open it doors, with more of the costs paid for then yet to pay.
