In 1979 a core group of 40 adults and children became interested in starting a new Baptist church in Mansfield. As God continued to build His Church here in Mansfield, OH, a young youth pastor, Dave Pound, was called to be the Senior Pastor. The mission was to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ desiring salvation for all.

Though time has progressed and changed the mission of Berean is still rooted to its beginnings. We are the church, the body of our Lord, Jesus Christ, pursing the calling which we have been called. Our mission is to preach and teach the Word of God, as we gather as the saints, growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord, and to go and make disciples.

We strive for such holiness as we look to our Lord, for we know that we are sinners in the flesh forgiven by a holy and righteous God who we live for.
