MISSION
Bessemer Historical Society's Mission is to provide continuing education to the public through the preservation of the historic archives, artifacts and buildings of the Colorado Fuel and Iron Co. BHS collects, preserves, interprets, and exhibits the collections of the steel and mining industry, the Bessemer neighborhood, and the working families of the steel and mining industry in the region and the Industrial West.
We are located in the historic administration buildings across I-25 from the Pueblo steel works. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tours by appointment. 719-564-9086.
By year's end, The Steelworks Museum of Industry and Culture will open its doors to the public featuring exhibits, an education room, computer lab and gift shop.
