History :
Bethesda-on-the-Bay Lutheran Church is one of the 348 congregations of the Ohio Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The initial service of the church was held on October 13, 1946 at the Parkview School (the Middle School) at Wolf and Cahoon Roads. There were 19 charter members. Bethesda's first facility - a chapel and office - was dedicated in 1951. In 1964, our nave was built. In 1968, a 10,000-square foot educational unit, which included administrative offices, classrooms and fellowship facilities, was dedicated. These facilities continue to be used by our congregation and are made available for use by the community. In 1988, a new pipe organ was included in the sanctuary renovation, along with a new steeple and bell tower. In 1995, stain glass windows were placed in the nave. In 2000, our lounge and kitchen renovations took place. In 2002, a prayrer garden was built for members and the community
