About Us

In August of 1845 Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Woody purchased 160 acres northwest of Farmersville. After building their log cabin they opened their home in 1854 to unite with other believers to form a church. As the community grew, the Woody's donated land in 1859 to be used for public worship and a schoolhouse. This building was destroyed by a storm. The building was rebuilt in 1890's making it the oldest remaining country church house in the area. The youth meet in this building every Sunday morning and Wednesday night. The open air tabernacle was built in the early 1920's. These buildings as well as the outside bell donated in memory of Hugh's granddaughter, Vestie Woody Kerby, reminds us of the sacrifice and commitment of our forefathers as they provided worship facilities for their children and grandchildren to come.

Please join us for worship services as we carry on the vision of our forefathers  in providing  our community a place to gather and worship the Lord our God.
