About Black Earth Elementary School :
Black Earth Elementary School is home to 160 pre-K to grade five students. The school is nestled in the town of Black Earth where the fire department, police office, library, and post office are all within walking distance from the school. This caring school community focuses on the total child and total development. The Association of Parents and Teachers actively supports the school programs as well.

Students experience comprehensive programs in the arts, technology, and physical education, in addition to the Wisconsin Heights curricular expectations at each grade level. The Chamber of Commerce donates funds raised from the summer “ Concerts in the Park ” to the Black Earth School arts program. The school library is open throughout the day, and thousands of books are available for research and enjoyment.

Small class size is another characteristic of Black Earth School . Volunteers further reduce the adult to student ratio, and can be seen working in the classrooms or Family Resource Center . Students have met or exceeded the No Child Left Behind requirements at the state and national levels under the tutelage of highly qualified teachers. Eligible students receive tutorial support in reading and a range of special education services.

Students in both Black Earth and Mazomanie participate in a wide range of school, grade - level, and classroom programs including Geography Bee, Spelling Bee, Math Contest, Student Council, Olympic teams, arts in residence, field day, concerts, arts festivals, and Presidential Academic Awards.
