History:

1910-The First Baptist Young Peoples Union (Bypu) Was Organized Under The Leadership Of A Teacher At East Lynn College, Professor Tom Cochran. (East Lynn College Was Located Where Buffalo Elementary School Now Stands.) The First Bypu Members Were Intermediate And Junior Age Children. Later Adults Formed A Seperate Group. Several Years Later The Name Was Changed To Baptist Training Union (Btu), With Seperate Age Groups.

1920- The First Electric Lights Were Installed In The Auditorium Operating On Batteries, Located In Otto Keith's Building Across The Street.

1922- Under The Leadership Of Rev. O.M. Seigler, Buffalo Baptist Church Went From Half-Time Preaching To Full-Time. Also, During Bro. Seigler's Leadership The Church Voted To Build An Addition Consisting Of Nine Sunday School Rooms And Two Hall-Ways Joined To The Auditorium.

In The Early 1920's The Ladies Of The Church Organized The Women's Missions Society (Wms). The Organization Has Been Outstanding In Developing Leadership Among The Ladies And In Helping To Promote Mission Programs.
