These same goals are inherent in our school’s mission:

To provide a positive environment for all students attending our Kindergarten, first, and second grade classes.

To have our students strive to attain successfully their next grade level.

To have our teachers and staff work together to achieve success for all students.

This year’s school theme also reflects these goals: “Working Together, Growing Together, Learning Together, No Child Left Behind”. The key word here is “Together”. This includes the parents and guardians of our students working with the teachers and school staff. We need the parents involved with their children. Our teachers will know by the parents being here that they are willing to work together with the school to help their child. We strive to provide a variety of activities that will include parent involvement. Parents will again be immersed along with their students in our Lifelong Guidelines/ Lifeskills Program. Our annual Read and Play night will be held in March. We have an active and most supportive Parents Club which meets on the first Thursday of each month.

We have a model Volunteer program that has many parents, relatives and friends assisting in our school. Just contact your child’s teacher to participate in this program. Several special activities and events occur both in the classrooms and building wide. Please check our Monthly Calendar and this website for this information.

We have a beautiful facility including a Media Center and Computer Lab, that our Board of Education has recently provided with many upgrades. These include: air conditioning, technology, safety and communications systems. Also, through the district’s mini-grant program we have established a beautiful Children’s Garden. We also have a Remembrance Garden that can be seen while walking our main hallway. We all work diligently to keep each child in a safe environment.

We care for our students by providing numerous opportunities for success academically, socially, and emotionally. Our curriculum consists of the New Jersey mandated programs based on the Core Curriculum Content Standards. At the primary level our emphasis is on the foundations for reading and mathematics. In addition both Science and Social Studies are introduced. These support services include: counselors, nurse, library, art, music, physical education, computers, speech and ESL. Additionally our first and second grade students enjoy learning Spanish twice each week. Also, breakfast is available each morning in our cafeteria.
