California Rangers is a SASS-affiliated cowboy action shooting club and follows SASS rules. Matches are scored by "total time," instead of "rank points." The club also provides an "Open" category that will allow a shooter to follow the requirements of different shooting categories for different stages. If you want to shoot a stage or two as a "Gunfighter" or "Duelist" but not commit to that style for the entire match, sign up under the "Open" category.

The club provides a "New Shooter Orientation" to help new CAS shooters understand the safety rules and requirements for SASS participation. The class will cover dress code, ammunition and firearms, scoring, safety and gun handling and typical shooting scenarios.
