Cavalier Galleries - Greenwich
405 Greenwich Avenue
203-869-3664

Founded in 1986, Cavalier Galleries offers the finest in contemporary painting, sculpture and photography from an international stable of artists.  The gallery has two parts: Cavalier Gallery that represents traditional works and Cavalier Modern which shows the works of Wolfe Kahn, Robert DeNiro, Sr., Hans Hoffman and Charles Greene Shaw.

Representing both emerging and established artists, Cavalier Gallery is at the forefront of the New Realism movement featuring the breakout talents of the Water Street Atelier founded by Jacob Collins as well as the established masters of realism like Michael Aviano and Daniel E. Greene, N.A.

From the galleries’ inception it has been at the forefront of promoting sculpture. In 1987 the gallery put forth the first U.S. exhibition of the Royal Society of British Sculptors. In 1988 the Cavalier Sculpture Garden was established in Stamford, CT and in 1992, in conjunction with F. D. Rich and Frank Mercedes and Sons, Inc., Cavalier curated The “Borglums of Fairfield County,” which was the first show where both Gutzon (of Mount Rushmore fame) and his brother Solon exhibited together.  The following year, the nationally-acclaimed Stamford Sculpture Walk opened. This outdoor exhibition was dedicated to public interaction, education, enrichment and enjoyment. Cavalier’s involvement culminated with the 1999 exhibition “Important Sculptors of the Late Twentieth Century” which included major works by Moore, Botero, Smith, Oldenburg, Segal and Nevelson.

Today, Cavalier represents the finest in contemporary sculpture featuring the works of Hans Van de Bovenkamp, Reuben Nakian, Bruno Lucchesi and Jim Rennert. These world class talents have enabled Cavalier to make its mark in the corporate and private collectors market.  They also continue Cavalier’s strong tradition of promoting sculpture.
