Central Baptist Church of Maysville
History:
TABERNACLE BAPTIST CHURCH, now Central Baptist Church was organized in the fall of 1931. Rev. T. Howard Kingston was called to be pastor. Annie Allen, a missionary, came to Maysville during the week and held home Bible studies in the Eastland neighborhood prior to the churches organization.
The first baptismal services was in December 1931 at the First Baptist Church, fourteen individuals who had made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ were baptized. The membership grew and in April of 1953 there were 111 members and 167 enrolled in Sunday School. From its conception Central has been missions minded. The WMU was organized in 1932.
