History

Chinese Bible Mission Church of Los Angeles is an independent church. It was founded by Rev. Fred Tze Wah Cheung. Our first meeting was held in the city of Alhambra on August 1st, 1999. We could only have Sunday afternoon service at that time because we were renting facilities from another church and there were a lot of limitions in using those facilities.

The vision of CBMC has always been "Reaching 10,000 for Christ" in the Greater Los Angeles area. With this vision in mind, the Board of Elders had made 2 strategic decisions to further our church growth at that time. One of the decisions was to expand the Sunday worship services to Sunday morning. In December of year 2000, the Lord had led us to come across this Christian Scientist Church at 2nd Street and Commonwealth for sale. As we had been praying faithfully for God's guidance, He had given us beyond our expectation. He not only led us to a place to worship in Sunday morning, but He had also given us a facility, which we could make it, our home; a building with no restriction in usage and in a location that created visibility for CBMC in the Chinese community.

On August 5th, 2001, we had our first Sunday worship in our new home. As our congregation continues to grow and with our Lord's grace, we have been purchasing surrounding residential properties for various uses. We believe that if we put our trust in our Lord and are sensitive to His guidance, He will lead us to see greater things in the years to come.
