Choctaw Chamber of Commerce

2437 Main Street
405-390-3303

History:

The Choctaw Chamber of Commerce was organized in 1977 to achieve and pursue objectives of a free enterprise system of business. This will be accomplished by a better understanding and appreciation of the importance of the business person, and a concern for his or her problem. Moreover, this Chamber will provide a means for business involvement in city, county, state and national legislative and political affairs.

The Chamber of Commerce will also provide a business climate which will prevent controversies which are detrimental to expansion and growth in business and Choctaw, or adjust them if they arise.

The Chamber of Commerce will create an atmosphere which will promote and foster the maximum freedom for individuals and business firms consistent with ability of each to fulfill its responsibilities for the common good.

Finally, the Chamber of Commerce shall promote business and growth with programs of a civic nature, social and cultural advancement which are designed to retain the aesthetic values of the area and at all times correcting abuses which prevent the promotion of the business expansion and the orderly growth and development of Choctaw.

We are governed by a fifteen (15) member Board of Directors; all past presidents also have a voice and a vote on our programs. A president, president-elect and a vice-president are selected from the Board and
elected for a one year term of office. A secretary and treasurer are appointed by the President each year. We also have an executive officer and administrative aide who conduct the day to day business of our Chamber.

Objective:

To retain the competitive enterprise system of business; and to promote business growth and development of Choctaw.
