Christ Episcopal Church

2 Dresden Avenue
207-582-3354

History

Christ Church is the oldest continuously operating Episcopal Church in Maine. Erected in 1771, it was originally known as St. Ann's in Gardinerstown. On October 18, 1820, the stone gothic style edifice that stands today was completed and renamed Christ Church. From the steeple bell cast by Paul Revere, to the headstone of the first Bishop of Maine, Christ Church has been loving maintained over the years through the generosity of past and present parishioners and benefactors.
