About Us:

Choctaw is a small and vibrant community where the values of small town living merge with strong incentives for economic growth.

Just minutes from major highways and neighboring cities and towns, Choctaw has a special feeling that makes it a little different from surrounding communities. The demographic information included herein describes a diverse community that has seen steady growth and prepared itself for future growth.

Business opportunities in our community are many and varied. An aggressive and unique tax incentive is now in place for new and existing commercial businesses. More information of this incentive and our community are found within.

Our residents boast a strong work ethic, a love of country and pride in their workmanship. Choctaw is a rare mix of people, natural beauty and strong civic leadership. We are poised for the future but determined to retain the small town charm that makes it home for 10,000 residents. Our schools, parks and many different civic groups define our values and diversity and provide for our future growth.

Choctaw's location in the Oklahoma City Metro Area provides its residents and businesses with access to a region of one million plus people. Choctaw... is the open door... to job and business opportunities, a large labor force, a wide selection of cultural, recreational and educational opportunities and close proximity to a major airport. These amenities are available to Choctaw due to its location in eastern Oklahoma County.

The very name conveys thoughts of pioneers and native Americans. Indeed, it is from the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889 that Choctaw began. Choctaw is the oldest chartered town in Oklahoma. Choctaw physically became a community in 1890, but was not given actual status as a town until 1893 when a territorial governor was appointed for Oklahoma. It officially celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1993.

Choctaw is the third fastest growing community in the Oklahoma City Metro area. The City encompasses over twenty-seven (27) square miles and its population has more than tripled since 1970 to its current level of approximately 10,000. Choctaw residents are relatively young (average age is 33.4 years) with income and educational levels considerably higher than Oklahoma County and surrounding communities.

All our roads lead to scenic lakes where we can swim, ski, sail, fish or simply relax along a shady bank. Our city is only twenty minutes from the largest Air Force Material Command system, Tinker Air Force Base, and a like distance to the largest General Motors Plant which manufactures an average of 300,000 units per year. We are only 20 minutes from the downtown metro area of Oklahoma City, a sprawling city of 900,000; a major economic and cultural center which leads to other industrial giants such as Lucent Technologies, Kerr McGee, and the FAA. We have beautiful parks, the Zoo, Museums, Remington Park, and Will Rogers World Airport. It's all here awaiting your discovery.
