City of Clinton

300 Jefferson Street
601-924-5474

About Us :

Clinton was formally designated into the Main Street Mississippi program on February 15, 2007. Main Street is administered by the National Trust for Historic Preservation whose goal is revitalization and economic development in downtown commercial areas. The geographic area will encompass Olde Town and Clinton Boulevard, Clinton's older commercial districts.

Main Street Clinton will take a long-term incremental approach to the revitalization process using the national program's four-point approach: design, promotions, organization and economic restructuring to achieve these goals. That history comes to life with a stroll down the brick streets of Olde Towne or on a visit to the beautiful campus of Mississippi College - the oldest college in the state and highly ranked for its educational value.

That pride is evident in the remarkable spirit of volunteerism in civic, educational, and recreational activities. That pride is evident every Fourth of July at Traceway Park when thousands of our citizens gather in a celebration of community and patriotism. That progress is evident in the sharp growth in commercial and residential development over the past decade. That progress is evident in distinguished achievements such as a Most Liveable City designation, a Certified Retirement Community designation, and Entergy's Team City designation. Clinton is a growing city with a unique hometown quality. It is a place of families, friends, and foundations. You may leave Clinton, but it won't leave you. Clinton is home.
