A Little History...

Gibson, the county seat of Glascock County, was incorporated August 20, 1913. The city was named in honor of Judge William Gibson, a former Colonel in the Confederate Army, who donated $500 for the first public building (the courthouse) in Glascock County.

Gibson is located at the intersection of Ga. highways 171 and 102, in what is considered East Central Georgia. Neighboring cities include Edgehill and Mitchell.
