About La Center

Located east of Interstate 5 at Exit 16, scenic La Center is in north Clark County, Washington, near the foothills of the Cascade Mountain Range affording magnificent views of Mount St. Helens. The southern border of the City runs along the picturesque East Fork of the Lewis River. Incorporated in 1909, La Center offers small community living with convenient commutes to Vancouver and Olympia, Washington and Portland, Oregon.

Residents and visitors enjoy an abundance of wildlife and outdoor activities in our rolling hills, unspoiled wetlands and city parks. The La Center Wetlands Stewardship Park is home to Canadian Geese and Tundra Swan who take a rest on their journey along the Pacific Flyway. Sternwheeler Park is our brand-new outdoor amphitheater designed as a great venue for bands, concerts and special events. The 12-acre City of La Center Park hosts a community building, ball fields, play area and a pathway for walking or jogging. Heritage Park, located in the northern part of the City, is a beautiful greenbelt area offering a play area and walking paths. The Elmer Soehl Park also offers respite to walkers and a playground for youngsters.

The General Commercial District consists of businesses and stores including food/fuel convenience markets, a pizza restaurant, video store and cleaners. Additional restaurants, offering a variety of foods, are located in the four mini-casinos near the General Commercial District. Adjacent to the north City limits is Salishan Vineyards - the home of award winning Pinot Noirs, Chardonnays and dry Rieslings. Come and see why La Center is a great place to live!
