The City of Madeira is a suburban community located in southwest Ohio just 12 miles northeast of downtown Cincinnati on Interstate 71. We have 8,923 residents within our 3.5 square mile territory. In addition to our thriving Central Business District, where you can shop and dine, we are located next to one of the major regional shopping malls in the Greater Cincinnati Area. Madeira is a charming and thriving community with an award winning public school district, convenient local parks and a safe, family friendly place to live work and play.
The city is governed by the Madeira Hole Rule Charter which specifies the Council/Manager form of government. City Council is comprised of a Mayor and 6 council members who are elected at large.
