The Civil Air Patrol (CAP) is the civilian unpaid volunteer auxiliary of the United States Air Force and is charged with inland search and rescue of lost aircraft, civilian and military. They also are involved in humanitarian services/disaster relief, Aerospace Education of the people of the United States and Cadet (Teen) training in all the above area, including communications, navigation, aerospace history, flight, first aid, etc. Average annual statistics of CAP: 50,000 (20,000 teens..30,000 over 21)members; all unpaid volunteers from all ages and walks of life, 13,000 search hours, 2,000 missions, over 100 lives saved each year. We are known as the Capitol City Composite Squadron 302. A composite squadron is a mixture of both senior members and cadet members. Our membership is around 100 members with about a 40% cadet membership and 60% senior membership. You must be at least 12+ years of age to join as a Cadet; you must be at least 18+ years of age to join as a Senior Member.
