Clarendon County Archives And History Center

211 N Brooks St
803-435-0328

The Clarendon County Archives & History Center was established in 1996 to collect, preserve and display the unique documents and artifacts that chronicle area history. Housed within the old Manning Library, built c. 1908 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the center and its contents provide insight into the life, culture and families of the area. Presentations that detail information on the county's beginnings in 1855 and life through the war years are provided. A genealogy section offers opportunities for research into family history. The Archives and History Center is open to the public free of charge Monday through Friday and on Saturday by appointment.
