Community Church of Yorktown
Missionary Support
The Church continues its commitment to several missionaries.
This includes, since the late 50's, support to Rev. Dale and Ruth Schanely, for Student Mission in Venezuela. The Schanelys went to Merida, Venezuela, to pastor a small Protestant church in 1953. His ministry started from a garage size space, and today, under his leadership, The Christian University Student Bible Study Club has grown to fill the space of a stadium. The Community Church of Yorktown has been the only continuous source of support for this mission.
