Crow River Habitat for Humanity History

Crow River Habitat for Humanity was founded in October 1994 by a group of citizens who were excited to make a difference in their communities.  They put in their own money, raised money from family and friends and got donations of money and building materials to build the first home.  It was completed and sold to the first Partner Family on March 22, 1996.

Since then, Crow River Habitat for Humanity has completed 24 homes in McLeod County.  Sixteen homes are in Hutchinson, five in Glencoe, two in Stewart and one in Brownton.

Habitat Today

Through the work of Habitat, thousands of low-income families have found new hope in the form of affordable housing. Churches, community groups and others have joined together to successfully tackle a significant social problem―decent housing for all. Today, Habitat has helped build or repair more than 600,000 houses and served more than 3 million people around the world.
