Danville United Methodist Church

301 East 7th Street
479-495-2394

About Us:

This first Danville Methodist Church, a two-story wood frame building with a small bell tower, was near the location of today's Danville United Methodist Church.

The Methodist Church began in Yell County before 1860. The first services were held on the Yell County Courthouse lawn. Following the Civil War, a pastor who had been discharged from the Confederate Army conducted services wearing a Confederate Coat and Union trousers. This is the first Danville United Methodist Church.
