he first recorded history of First Christian Church was in the fall of 1914. A few scattered disciples who desired to be known as Christian only, began to meet and observe the Lord's Supper every Lord's Day. On Sunday, April 18, 1915, 22 Christians invited an evangelical company to conduct six weekly meetings in the Arkansas County Courthouse. By the end of these meetings, the congregation totaled 177 and a one-room building had been erected. An official Church Board was formed on August 15, 195: Elders: J.M. Rasco, J.W. Davis, and S.C. Morrison; Deacons: W.R. Menard, T.W. Rollison, E.R. Sisemore, Henry Degarmo, and T.A. Miller; Clerk: Charles Kleiser.

The coming years saw members drop to fewer than the first 22, but some would always meet for Bible Study and the Communion Service every Lord's Day. The church came to be know as "the Friendly Little White Church Around The Corner." Late in 1934, it was decided to build a parsonage in order to help keep a pastor in residence. In 1940, a brick building was built, replacing the little white church building, on the same lot. In 1957, and annex was added. In 1999, construction began on the present building. The first church service in the present building was held on July 1, 2001. Construction continued until the sanctuary and classrooms were completed. In 2002, the Fellowship Hall and Family Life Center were completed.
