About Us

The Church of Christ in Douglasville, GA., is a fellowship of people seeking to know and do the will of God. Our desire is to follow Christ faithfully. Christ has loved us so much that He gave His life for us. We want to love one another as He has loved us. (Jn 13:33-34).

We believe that baptized believers are called to adopt a life of discipleship that imitates Christ's own. He is our perfect model in all things. We seek to honor God with spiritual worship, unity with our fellow believers, and service to our neighbors.

We believe the role of the local congregation is to glorify God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We strive to share Jesus Christ in all that we say and all that we do.

This congregation was officially recognized on September 17, 1950. The church family first met under a tent and later moved into members homes. The initial number in attendance was about 12 people. The first service was conducted in our present building on May 1, 1966. The building is located on a six acre site.

Our church family has four men who serve as elders. They are Joe Buckner, Mitch Grubb, Dwight Hood, and Terry Stephens. They have eight men serving under them as deacons. They are Jim Bearden, Scott Garrison, Kenneth Graves, Greg Grogan, Horace Ridley, Dan Smalley, Mike Stephens, and Grayson Williams. These men have made a commitment to God in service to Him.
