About DISD:
The Duncanville ISD is home to approximately 54,000 residents within a 28.7 square mile radius and serves the entire city of Duncanville and portions of Dallas, Cedar Hill, and Desoto. The district currently educates approximately 12,300 students throughout its 18 campuses, including nine elementary schools, three intermediate, three middle schools, one high school and PACE, which offers accelerated instruction for non-traditional students. The Summit campus provides educational services within a structured environment to students with behavioral concerns.

Grade levels are divided by elementary, serving students in pre-k through four, intermediate, serving grades five and six, middle school for students in grades seven and eight, and high school for students in ninth trough twelfth grades.

The district is located in the southwest region of Dallas County along the corridors of I-20 and Hwy 67. Employing approximately 1600, including 800 classroom teachers, the district is one of the largest employers in the area. The staff of Duncanville ISD accepts the responsibility to provide a nurturing and challenging environment that engages students and brings relevance to the curriculum.

The community's approval of a $166 million bond proposal in 2001 brought much needed changes to district facilities. In addition to constructing two new elementary schools, through bond funds every existing campus was renovated, including the $90 million renovations and expansions to Duncanville High School and the redevelopment of a ninth grade campus to a third middle school.
