Mission:

The mission of the Eminence Independent Schools is to collaborate with parents and the community to produce lifelong learners prepared for all future changes.

History:

The Eminence Independent School District was established in 1901. By today's standards, we are one of the smallest school districts in the state. However, we feel this is an advantage where small class size translates into individualized attention at all levels. Our students have historically displayed a tradition of high academic achievement and they are very successful in colleges and universities, as well as the world of work. We believe it is a great place to live, work, and receive a quality education.

The current school year is the 106th in the history of this district.  The citizens of Eminence helped us get started in 1901, and our rich educational tradition continues.  The history of this district has had many ups and downs but our strong academic program has been the backbone of our success.  Our alumni list includes students who have become highly successful in medicine, law, education, engineering, business, industry, civil service, religion and life.  No doubt, wonderful things have happened here in the last 106 years.

The district was also one of the first districts in the state to change to an alternative calendar. Our calendar allows the district to have extended breaks every nine weeks and offers extra assistance to students.  A Fall Break of two weeks in October is a big hit with students, parents and staff.

The Eminence School District was recognized in 2004 by the National Association for Year Round Education (NAYRE) as a "School of Merit."  This prestigious award honored the hard work of the staff and the academic achievements of our students. Only eight school districts in America were recognized for this honor.

The district offers on-site childcare to parents before school, after school, and during all scheduled breaks. Wee Warriors, our on-site child care program is growing and very successful because it offers students the option to remain on campus for extended care.

The Family Resource and Youth Services Center continues to address the needs of our school and our community. Our Inter-Agency Taskforce has become a model for the state through the efforts of our FRYSC.
