Emmanuel Orthodox Church

Our Story

Emmanuel Orthodox Church was founded in 2001 in the living room of a visionary priest named Fr. Kenneth DeVoie. He desired to build a Church that served as a bridge uniting the unchurched and Christians of every background with the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church.

Over the next several years Emmanuel experienced slow steady growth and met in various locations including a train station and later in The United Methodist Church in West Brookfield.

In 2008 Emmanuel was blessed to purchase a building at 25 Winthrop Terrace, Warren and was received into canonical Orthodoxy as a parish in the Antiochian Diocese of Worcester and New England.

In 2011 Fr. Christopher Nerreau was assigned to take over Emmanuel and continue this mission. Fr. Chris has lived in the area for nearly 30 years and thus has long standing ties to the community. These ties give him a special passion for the people of Warren and a strong desire to restore the Church to its rightful place as the center of life in the community.

We thank you for visiting Emmanuel Orthodox Church and invite you to become a part of our great story.
