Evamere Elementary School

76 North Hayden Parkway
330-653-1228

Evamere Elementary School gives Hudson children their first introduction to the Hudson Schools. Eight Kindergarten classrooms hold 16 half-day programs taught by a teacher with the help of an educational aide. Eighteen First Grade classrooms are under the direction of 18 full-time teachers. Evamere also offers a preschool for 3, 4 and 5-year olds with special needs, and adds a small number of typical children to each classroom.

In addition to the regular curriculum of language arts, mathematics, social studies and science taught by the classroom teachers, music and physical education are taught to students in Kindergarten and First Grade by teachers in these areas of specialization. A media specialist introduces children to the wonders of the school library during weekly visits. First graders also study art with a specialized art teacher.

Evamere Elementary School was opened in 1958 after the Board of Education purchased approximately 22 acres of the former Ellsworth Farm from Western Reserve Academy. That first building, which housed 12 classrooms, two kindergarten rooms, offices and a multipurpose room, is now the west wing of the current school. Evamere was enlarged in 1959, 1976 and in 1991. Eight modular classrooms, added in 1986, house services and a music classroom.
