About us:

Ferris ISD is a Class 4-A school district offering our students a 21st century educational experience in a rural setting.  Ferris is centrally located in northern Ellis County only 20 miles south of Dallas on Interstate 45.  Easy access to all the entertainment, shopping, and cultural activities the DFW Metroplex has to offer is just one of many reasons to educate your children in Ferris ISD.  Our community provides a close-knit, small town atmosphere that is perfect for families, and all district schools achieved a rating of “Met Standard,” the highest rating the Texas Education Agency awarded for 2013.  With an average student to teacher ratio of 1 to 17, your child will learn from caring teachers who get to know their students and have the ability to focus on individual student needs.

Ferris ISD is committed to providing all students with the skills they need to be competitive in the 21st century workforce.  We recently invested over $800,000 in our digital infrastructure and technology tools for students and teachers.  Every teacher and administrator in Ferris ISD is provided a district iPad, and we currently have over 600 iPads available on the campuses for students’ classroom use, in addition to many other technology tools.  We have also invested in eInstruction’s Insight 360 program that allows teachers to integrate iPads into classroom lessons, providing a more authentic learning experience for our digitally native student body.  This is just the beginning of our efforts to ensure our students are ready for the challenges of our technology-rich global society!  From dual credit and Advanced Placement courses to Career & Technical Education, fine arts, and a solid academic program, Ferris ISD has something for everyone!
