Country Arbor Ministries Outreach Center Love Thou Neighbor Housing & Five Fold Ministries Outreach. is an interfaith, Non-denominational organization of volunteers who are at the forefront of helping the homeless in Washington County, and surrounding county of Oklahoma. Country Arbor Ministries Outreach Center "Love Thou Neighbor Housing",& Five Fold Ministries Outreach is an all volunteer, not for profit interfaith non - denominational organization, in committed to helping the homeless among us. We believe in "Giving a Hand Up, Not a Hand Out." We are dedicated to finding and implementing effective solutions to reduce and mitigate the existence of homelessness in Washington County, & surrounding Oklahoma counties. We believe there are no quick-fix solutions, so we are committed to supporting the basic, human needs of the homeless on daily basis, while working toward the ultimate goal. These efforts include the coordination and provision of hot, nourishing meals, clothing and temporary shelter by working with local non-profit charitable organizations and government entities. We will provide education which will lead to the homeless obtaining gainful employment. Our job at Country Arbor Ministries Outreach Center & Five Fold Ministries Outreach is to help our Sister and Brother. We believe that "We are our Brother's keeper" and we should "Love Thou Neighbor as thyself. Our ministry is to go out to the community and see who need help. Our job is to serve God and give witness to these family who can't do the work like: doing yard work, cleaning, home repair, cleaning their house and going to the store to buy charting, food, or by going to the doctors. The Country Arbor Ministries Outreach Center Neighborhood Outreach & Five Fold Ministries Outreach Interfaith, Non-Denominational older adults and Adult with Disability helps older adults (50+) remain independent in their own homes. We provide the following services to older adults & People with Disabilities & low income living in Washington County and surrounding Counties: Direct Services * Transportation to/from doctor appointments, grocery stores, pharmacy; etc. * Shopping services for older adults & disability adult. * In-home friendly visiting to older adults and Adults with disability who might be isolated and lonely * Telephone visiting * Minor home & yard chores * Help with paperwork and applications Information & Referral * Help older adults & disability identify the resources they need. * Provide information about other community resources for older adults and adult with disability Advocacy * Act as an advocate when needed for older adults and adult with disability. Our Neighborhood Outreach professionals keep abreast of all services available in Washington County for older adults and adult with Disability and provide expert advice and information. Our staff will initially do an in-home assessment to identify the needs of the older adults and adult with disability. Volunteers who are matched with older adults and adult with Disability living in their neighborhoods provide most of the direct services. Currently we have We need sponsoring congregations throughout Washington County. Who We Help Any older adult (50+) in Washington County who needs help remaining in their own homes with safety, dignity and connections with others. There are no income guidelines. Although Need new congregations sponsor our program, we serve ALL older adults and adult with disability and show no preference for people of any particular faith. We do not promote religion to anyone we serve. What We Accomplish Older adults and adult with disability are able to remain connected with other people and with the help they need to remain independent in their own homes. Without these services many would suffer from complications of being isolated without sufficient access to food, medical care and friendship -- the most obvious of which is premature placement in a nursing home. What Does The Service Cost There is no cost for our outreach services because of the generous support of our sponsoring congregations, foundations and individual donors. Volunteer Opportunities - How You Can Help Many older adults and adult with disability in your neighborhood need a little help to retain their sense of safety, autonomy and dignity. Our volunteers visit with older adults, and adult with Disability, provide transportation, shop, help read mail, fill out forms, make minor home & yard repairs and help with other daily tasks. As a Country Arbor Ministries Outreach Center Neighborhood Outreach Five Fold Ministries Outreach Interfaith, Non-Denominational Older Adults and Adult with Disability Volunteer, you will be matched with an elder & adult with disability whose needs match your schedule and interests, and who lives right in your own neighborhood. You can volunteer as often or as little as you wish. In 2008, Country Arbor Ministries Outreach Center Neighborhood Outreach Interfaith, Non-Denominational Neighborhood Outreach Program provided volunteer hours serving nearly 5,400 older adults!
