Ford Family Homestead

7440 SouthWest Morrill Road
620-243-3584

Our CSA is new to the Topeka/Lawrence area, but our family has been growing produce for several years. We offer a large bag or basket of produce weekly. The produce tends to increase as the season continues and thus contents will increase throughout the year. You will have access to over 30 varieties of vegetables throughout the spring, summer, and fall. The bags are equivalent to approximately a bushel of vegetables. We grow only heirloom and open pollinated varieties with the most delicious flavor and diversity. You will have access to such produce as purple and yellow carrots, orange and white tomatoes, and many varieties of greens. Your palate will be ecstatic.

We are a young farm family who are making the leap to a farm lifestyle. I quit my job as a teacher to come home to farm with my wife and children. We grow 3 acres of vegetables using organic methods. We also raise Dairy Goats for raw milk and sell it on the farm and also through a goat share. Milk is usually available from late February through early winter. Starting in the spring of 2011 we will be starting a large CSA and we will have pastured eggs, raw milk, and produce available on the farm as well. We are always glad to show you what we are doing and accepting new customers for our CSA . We are currenlty farming on land that we have been given by a parent, but hope that with getting everything started we will be able to establish a strong customer base and move onto our own farmstead.
