Foster Grandparent Program

117 Lane Dr #50
281-344-3403

The Foster Grandparent Program was initiated by President Johnson’s Administration in 1965 serving as a dual purpose providing income-eligible adults, age 55+ years of age with meaningful volunteer opportunities, while also meeting critical community needs by serving children with exceptional needs. The program is primarily funded by the Corporation for National Community Service  (SeniorCorps) and sponsored by Texas Health and Human Service. The Foster Grandparent Program has been operating nation-wide since 1965. We work with our volunteers to provide them with meaningful volunteer opportunities fulfilling a critical need providing academic and life skills, one-on-one emotional support, mentoring, and tutoring for children with exceptional needs. We serve the following counties: Fort Bend, Wharton, Waller, Matagorda, and Brazoria counties. We are always in search of volunteers so if you know someone interested please provide out contact information to them. We also welcome any oppurtunity to present and educate the Foster Grandparent Program in our community.  Speakers/presenters that cater to the aging population are always welcomed to present their services at our monthly In Service meetings.
