Fouke Public Schools

Public education in the Fouke area began about 1872 when a building called Liberty Hall was completed. Until then, children in this sparsely populated area were mostly educated at home by their parents. Liberty Hall was located about 2 miles northeast of the present school campus. Much has changed in the 100 years since classes were first held in Fouke, Arkansas. Students have progressed from attending a one-room school providing an 8th grade education to a multi-building air-conditioned campus with various preK-12 education programs and high school course offerings that those early settlers could never have imagined. Progress doesn't stand still even today with the dream of building the new Sturgis Educational Complex in its early stages.

One thing has remained the same, however, for more than 100 years--our community's continued commitment to providing quality educational opportunities to the young people in our area.
