Friends in Christ

Harrisville, Michigan

Conservative Worship Group after the Manner of Friends
(Quakers)
In traditional Quaker meetings such as ours, worship is a silent time of waiting expectantly to be led by the ever-present Spirit of God through Christ. Ours is a free gospel ministry, with no clergy. We listen for the voice of our Lord within to strengthen, guide, and forgive. Any attender may be led by God's Spirit to briefly speak, pray or sing a hymn during meeting.
We testify that Jesus Christ - Son of God, our Saviour and Lord, the Word of God, comes as Living Water offered freely to us, that we need not thirst again in this otherwise parched world. We value and use the Bible. The translations used vary between individuals but include the King James, New International Version and others. Worship ends with the shaking of hands, followed by community announcements, social time and refreshments.

Dress is casual but we encourage modesty. Some Quakers adopt the plain dress attire of more traditional Friends as part of their personal Christian ministry and witness but there is no required or expected "dress code" at any Friends meetings.

We welcome all visitors to share our Christ-centered, unprogrammed meetings for worship. Please call ahead to be sure meeting will be held that day. 989-464-1918.

During 12th through 5th months, (Dec - April), we hold a monthly study group on 7th day afternoons starting at 3pm (1st Sat of the month) on various topics. This year the subject is evolution and we will enjoy the creation based ministry of Ken Ham via DVD's and discussion afterward. Dish-to-pass dinner to follow. Public welcome, please call in advance.

Thank you for your visit and may God bless your day!
