A brief History: On March 14, 1845, Friendship Methodist Episcopal Church was founded. The land and the building (which was called Young's Friendship Meeting House) was given by Thomas T. McCanless. The deed was witnessed on August 4th, 1845 and recorded in Deed-book R page 399 in the Giles County Tennessee Courthouse on August 6, 1845. In 1939 The Methodist Episcopal Church & The Methodist Protestant Church joined together, there causing our name to be changed to Friendship Methodist Church. Then in 1968, The Methodist Church joined with The Evangelical United Brethren Church, This changed our name to Friendship United Methodist Church. Friendship is located near the start of Buchanan Creek, 8 miles east of Pulaski and 2 miles west of Beech Hill.
