Galeton Community Church

PO Box 323
970-454-3126

The church was started in Galeton in 1909 by American Sunday School Union missionaries. In its 97-plus years of existence, the church has maintained a non-denominational status.

The original church structure was moved to the present site from the SLW Ranch east of Kersey, which donated the building. It burned down in 1949, and soon was rebuilt through donations of materials and labor from all over northern Colorado. In 1987, a new addition began which doubled the size of the sanctuary and basement fellowship hall, as well as adding five classrooms and an office. From March to August of 2004, a new 5,000 square foot sanctuary and fellowship hall were built on the east side of the old structure, where a parsonage once was. The church also owns and maintains the park in Galeton, which is available for community use.
