Our high schools routinely compete favorably in the rigorous California Academic Decathlon. In addition, many of our high schools have won city and state athletic competitions such as football and tennis.

Parents and community members are vital partners in the education of our students and are provided with numerous opportunities to be actively involved. At the school site, parents can volunteer, join PTSA, serve on Title I or Bilingual advisory committees, or School Site Advisory Councils. Local District 8 also provides parents and community members with opportunities to be involved in the Local District Parent Community Advisory Council (LDPCAC), Council of Councils, CEAC/ELAC, and PHBAO.

We are proud of our students and their accomplishments, but we acknowledge that there are areas of needed improvement. Local District 8 is committed to continuing and improving collaborative partnerships with all of our stakeholders - our parents, teachers, administrators, and community members. Together, we will strive to provide an educational environment that eliminates the achievement gap, raises student achievement for all students, and provides outstanding instruction in every classroom in Local District 8.
