The Genuine Faux Farm started CSA shares in 2005. The farm is Certified Organic and we are committed to sustainable farming methods. There are 120 shares slots available with two size options during the regular 20 week season. We maintain three pickup locations (on farm, Waverly Farmers' Market and Roots Market in Cedar Falls). Pickup locations are 'menu style' so you are encouraged to bring your own box or bag to carry your produce home. We typically have a 20 week delivery season from June to October. GFF specializes in open pollinated and heirloom varieties and we believe in diversity in crops and within crops. For example, we typically grow around thirty tomato varieties. The farm also raises meat chickens, ducks and turkeys and has a small flock of laying hens.

All crops are now certified organic by the Iowa Dept of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. We grow a wide variety of vegetables from asparagus to zucchini. We prefer open-pollinated and heirloom/heritage cultivars and typically grow many different cultivars of each vegetable (e.g. 30 tomato varieties).

In 2011, we will have three pick up locations: Monday - at the farm (times 4-6pm) Tuesday - Waverly Farmers' Market from 3:30-6pm Thursday - Roots Market in Cedar Falls (times 4-6pm)

Pickups are menu style. A list is provided and subscribers may take from the bins in accordance with that list. (e.g. if the menu says you get three zucchini, you may take any three - or fewer - zucchini)

Left over produce is donated to the local food shelf and local community dinners.
