History f the council

The Georgia-Carolina Council, Boy Scouts of America was chartered in 1922 by the Rotary Club of Augusta. Since that time, the Council has grown to serve sixteen counties (Aiken, Barnwell, Burke, Columbia, Edgefield, Emanuel, Glascock, Jefferson, Jenkins, Lincoln, McCormick, McDuffie, Richmond, Taliaferro, Warren, and Wilkes) and 8,500 registered youths annually with programs that teach citizenship, character, self-reliance and personal fitness. Over 220 chartering institutions with 340 units and 3,200 volunteers join Scouting in a partnership that has endured over eighty-one years in the Central Savannah River Area. Youth involved in Scouting programs are making a difference in our communities. Through programs aimed at fighting literacy and youth at risk, the Boy Scouts of America is helping youth and adults alike.

Your support can continue to fund traditional programs as well as programs geared toward promoting child abuse prevention, fighting unemployment, feeding the hungry, combating drug abuse and preventing crime.
