The Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley's mission is to inspire girls to become resourceful, responsible citizens who value themselves and others. Through a girl adult partnership 2,500 active volunteers serve 11,000 girls in five western counties, Monroe, Genesee, Orleans, Livingston and Wyoming.

How to join Girl Scouting

Girl Scouts registered in Troops - Girls between the ages of five and seventeen are organized into troops that reflect the five program age levels. They meet on an ongoing basis, typically from September through May under the guidance of trained adults.

Girl Scouts registered in Groups - Girls between the ages of five and seventeen with common interests or needs who meet as a group either on a part-time or short-term basis under the guidance of a trained adult. Girls work with program resources in their appropriate age level.

Girl Scouts registered Individually - girls and adults who want to be members of the Girl Scout movement, but are unable or do not wish to register with a troop or group. The Council provides these girls with opportunities to participate in Girl Scout experiences in partnership with trained adults and peers.
