The basic philosophy of Glencoe Public Schools is the Properly motivated, all children can learn.We feel that with the proper amount of attention, we can reach each child. Each child is an individual; they are unique. We as educators have a tremendous responsibility.The bottom line is each staff member must have the philosophy that I make a difference.We should strive to develop the individual to the maximum of his capabilities, aptitudes, and interest.

Each student should gain a thorough and useful knowledge of the three Rs as a basis of all further learning, to help him attain a higher standard of living, and to maintain a position of respect in society. Each student is an individual in our system.

Students should be taught to think creatively and logically in order that may rely upon his initiative and judgment, and not be misled by false and untrue propaganda.The student should be taught the importance of their responsibilities as citizens and members of a democratic society.

The student should be taught not only to cherish rights and privileges as a free American, but also to respect the rights and privileges of others. Each student's need for a stable economic future should be met by providing either the actual training necessary for a vocations or by providing an adequate foundations for future training in his chosen field.The student should be encouraged toward an appreciation of the culture and aesthetic values of life.The student should be encouraged to develop a wide span of interest for the use of leisure time, such as fine arts, hobbies, sports, or other useful activities.The student should be trained to cultivate clean and wholesome health habits, and to develop good spiritual and moral attitudes.
