Our History:
Golden Valley Baptist Church began in the hearts and prayers of Mildred and Travis Burnham in the 1970s when people and places were few and far between in Golden Valley. The first step was Vacation Bible School held in the a small house behind the current church property. In December, 1978 the Golden Valley Baptist Mission was established, partly sponsored by First Southern Baptist Church in Kingman. Ground was broken for the first building on February 18, 1979. Organization of the mission to become a church began in December of 1980. The first pastor was called in 1981. On December 13, 1981, services were held dedicating the building and constituting the Golden Valley Baptist Mission into Golden Valley Baptist Church. The Children's Building was built some years later after the auditorium and adult education building. Over the past 24 years, the church has had 5 pastors. Golden Valley Baptist Church is a cooperating member of the River Valley Baptist Association, the Arizona Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention.

At Golden Valley Baptist Church we hold to ten basic beliefs:
We believe that there is one and only one God who is bigger and better and closer than we can imagine.  He is the eternal Creator and Ruler of the universe.
The Bible is God's perfect guidebook for living.
Jesus is God the Son who came, revealing God to us.
Through His Holy Spirit, God lives in and through us now.
Nothing in creation "just happened." God made it all.
Grace is the only way to have a relationship with God and faith is the only way to grow in that relationship.
God has allowed evil to provide us with a choice, God can bring good even out of evil events and God promises victory over evil to those who choose him.
Heaven and hell are real places. Death is a beginning, not the end.
The church is to serve people like Jesus served people.
Jesus is coming again.
