The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce is a dynamic group of 2,400 members who recognize the value of working together to accomplish what no single member could hope to achieve individually. Using our members' collective vision, resources and energy, we work to maintain a healthy environment in which our community can grow and prosper.

The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce is located on the West Coast of Florida and was established in 1921. Our four divisions continually looks for exciting and progressive ways to help our members, employees and community.

We believe that our active chamber is one of the reasons that Sarasota County is consistently identified as one of America's most desirable areas to live, work and enjoy the best that life has to offer.

Vision Statement:

Proclaiming to be the best at anything—especially a goal as important as this should be approached thoughtfully. Our vision is not about having more. It is about having better. Our view of the ideal business climate is a balance between quality of living and quality of working. How is that gauged? By measuring symptoms of both.

A community with the best climate for business should have an abundance of quality natural amenities, as well as thriving cultural and recreational offerings. It shows its values by the standards and results of its educational institutions, by its embrace of diversity and by low crime rates resulting from service-minded law enforcement agencies. It is a community with wide choices in housing for all its citizens, and short commute times to work.

It should have an affordable cost of living and consistent growth in jobs paying at or above community standards. It is a community that enjoys consistent appreciation in real estate values, partly because it has a fair and predictable tax burden. Through public/private partnerships, local government is emboldened to foster redevelopment of its cherished past, and provide the infrastructure required to meet future demands.

It is a community that fosters and recognizes entrepreneurial activity, and shows impressive growth from young companies that started here. It has an efficient transportation system and technology infrastructure that facilitates commerce.
